15 Sep SEO Tips to Get You Started
Search engine optimization can seem like a daunting process to those who’ve never really undertaken it themselves… and for those who have. After all, you can see lackluster results even after your best efforts. There may not be a single, magical answer that will skyrocket your page to the top of search engine results, but there are a number of key SEO tips that can help you get there over time.
Take the Time to Do Your Research
The first step might not sound very exciting, but it is crucial: start reading. Get your hands on online sources of SEO strategies, noting some that you haven’t yet tried that might be a good fit for your site or project. There are a lot of sources, including blogs and articles and much more, that you can review to get some ideas for your own SEO work. Looking through a variety of these will give you a handful of perspectives from which you can build your own strategy.
If that gets a little confusing, then there are always the more visual guides and training videos that you can seek out instead. Many of the kinds of sites above that write regularly on the subject also produce more condensed, simpler explanations for at least the basics of SEO. This is a good place to start if your exposure to the practice is at an absolute minimum.
“SEO has both technical aspects and marketing aspects.” You likely are more comfortable with one side or the other. For example, you may have a strong marketing background, but are uncomfortable with online development and code. Or, it could be the opposite, and marketing tactics have you totally floored. In either case, it’s completely possible to build up your experience with the other side of things so that you are generally more able to boost your site’s rankings day by day.
Reaching out for New SEO Tips
It makes a big difference to get a little extra help with these things, which is why we recommend the Yoast SEO plugin. This, and other SEO plugins, allow you to rely on a tool that has been fine-tuned over time and which is constantly updated. If you remember, Google especially changes its algorithm on a fairly regular basis, and it could seem daunting to have to keep up with those changes. However, ’employing’ a plugin like Yoast makes it so that you don’t have to keep all that in mind, since the experts behind the tech will do it for you.
However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pay attention to the changes that Google implements. You should resolve to check in with these updates when they appear and see how, if at all, they affect your site as it is now. For example, past SEO tips included keyword stuffing which called for over-saturating your posts and pages with your chosen keyword. That has since become highly frowned upon, so you would have had to go back into your content and edit accordingly. Again, this may take some time, but it’s a necessity if you want to be able to get your rankings up!
Getting a hang of optimizing your website takes time, research, and sometimes, help from other experts. If you put in that time and effort, you’ll see returns, even if it takes longer than you might have expected.
