08 Dec Customer Engagement Boosting Tips (Part Two)
Still looking for some ways to boost your customer engagement? We can help with that! Last week, we talked about the value of e-mail marketing and of Facebook Live. What’s next?
Everyone Likes to Win
What is a good way to get people to care about whatever it is that you’re saying or promoting? Imagine that you have a booth on the street and you’re trying to attract the attention of people passing by. What most of these in-person examples boil down to is incentive, and it’s similar for digital marketing! If you have the time and budget for it, then you should absolutely try running a giveaway, or something similar. Offering people a ‘reward’ for listening to what you have to say is a great method of encouragement.
Of course, there isn’t just one kind of giveaway, etc. that will have universally-positive results. “Running your contests on social media will increase exposure for your brand.” It can also be used to direct traffic back to your website, depending on what the nature of the contest is. If your goal is to increase customer engagement, then the bottom line should be having them comment on your post(s), or take some other kind of action. Depending on the platform, you may want to use hashtags to increase exposure and to get the word out.
If you’ve tried contests already and are looking for something new, then consider a return to the umbrella of e-mail marketing. If you have a section of the site where people can sign up for your ‘newsletter,’ etc., then it’s possible you will get some people who sign up on a whim, but who aren’t particularly engaged. This is where a double opt-in comes into play. If you send a follow-up e-mail asking people to confirm, again, that they want to be a subscriber, then you’ll start to see the people who really want to be there. Since these people are twice as likely to open and read your e-mails than those who only opted in once, you should see better engagement right away.
Trying Different Customer Engagement Strategies
There are a lot of different options available to you in terms of increasing your levels of customer engagement. Digital marketing can seem tricky, but if you try a few different strategies, then one of them will stick. You can begin with improving your e-mail marketing techniques, trying regular Facebook Live sessions, running contests to promote your business, and asking that your readers opt in twice for e-mails.
One additional tactic is to utilize the “Story” feature on Instagram, if your company has an account on this platform. This feature is extremely popular at the moment, so adding photos and videos to it will engage your followers. They only last for a day, though, so you have to be able to commit to regular posting of content. This is a great place to add promotions and discounts, along with other advertisements, and an ‘introduction’ to your company and its culture. Spotlight an employee, or show off one of your work spaces, stores, or offices. People like to feel as if they have some kind of ‘secret’ insight into things, and giving them a sort of ‘behind the scenes’ look will delight them.
