Yes, you can successfully utilize popups without driving your visitors crazy. The key is to avoid forcing this information on them as soon as they arrive, or – worse – on every page that they visit. Rather, you can set the popup’s trigger to be “on exit,” which means that it will be displayed only when they click to navigate to an external site (or close their browser window entirely).

People like getting good information in their emails, sure, but they’ll like getting discounts, coupons, or something free even more. Most people will provide their email address if you can give them something in return, so think long and hard about what you would be willing to offer to build up your list of subscribers.
